Atlanta Beat was a professional women's soccer team that played in the Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) from 2001 to 2003. The team was based in Atlanta, Georgia, and was one of the original eight teams in the WUSA.

The Atlanta Beat had a strong roster of players during their three seasons in the league. Some of the notable players on their roster included Charmaine Hooper, Homare Sawa, and Cindy Parlow. These players were all key contributors to the team's success in the league.

In their first season in the WUSA, the Atlanta Beat had a solid campaign, finishing second in the league with a record of 10-6-5. This earned them a spot in the playoffs, where they unfortunately lost in the semifinals to the eventual champions, the San Jose CyberRays.

The following year, the Atlanta Beat finished in third place with a record of 8-7-5. However, they missed out on the playoffs due to the league's playoff format, which only allowed the top two teams in each division to advance.

In their final season in the WUSA, the Atlanta Beat struggled to find their form and finished in seventh place with a record of 4-12-4. This ultimately led to the league folding at the end of the season, bringing an end to the Atlanta Beat's brief stint in women's professional soccer.

Despite the team's short lifespan, the Atlanta Beat helped to grow the sport of soccer in the city of Atlanta and laid the foundation for future women's professional teams in the area. In recent years, Atlanta has become a hotspot for soccer with the introduction of Major League Soccer (MLS) team Atlanta United FC, which has seen great success since its inception in 2017.

Overall, the Atlanta Beat played an important role in the growth of women's professional soccer in the United States and helped to pave the way for future generations of female soccer players.
