The Belmont Bruins Women's Basketball team is a formidable force in college women's basketball. The team has a long-standing history of success that dates back over two decades. In recent years, the Bruins have been consistently ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation.

Belmont University is a private Christian university located in Nashville, Tennessee. The school has a total undergraduate enrollment of approximately 8,200 students. Belmont has an academic reputation for excellence, particularly in fields such as music and business. However, it is the university's athletics program that has truly put it on the map.

The Belmont Bruins Women's Basketball team competes in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). The OVC is composed of 12 universities from Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama. Belmont has dominated the conference in recent years, winning the regular season championship nine times since 2010. The Bruins have also won the OVC tournament seven times during that same period, earning them automatic bids to the NCAA tournament.

Belmont's success has not gone unnoticed by the wider basketball community. Several Bruins have gone on to play professionally in the WNBA or overseas. Most notably, former player Darby Maggard led the nation in three-pointers made per game during the 2018-19 season and was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the third round of the 2019 WNBA draft.

One reason for the Belmont Bruins' success is their head coach, Bart Brooks. Brooks took over the program in 2016 and has since amassed an incredible record of 97-33. Before his arrival at Belmont, Brooks served as an assistant coach at DePaul University, where he helped guide the Blue Demons to six straight NCAA tournament appearances.

In addition to its success on the court, the Belmont Bruins Women's Basketball team prides itself on its academic achievements. Belmont had a perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) score in the most recent reporting cycle. The APR is a measurement developed by the NCAA to assess the academic progress and rate of retention for student-athletes.

The Belmont Bruins Women's Basketball team is an exciting group of athletes to watch. Their talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence in both athletics and academics make them a true standout in college women's basketball. As the program continues to flourish, it is clear that the Belmont Bruins will remain one of the top teams in the nation for years to come.
