In recent years, CLG has expanded beyond just League of Legends, adding teams for games such as Super Smash Bros. and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The growth of esports has caught the attention of many traditional sports organizations, including the NBA, which has invested heavily in esports. In 2017, CLG was acquired by Madison Square Garden Company, signaling an increased interest in esports from mainstream sports investors.
Esports might not require physical strength, but it demands exceptional hand-eye coordination, critical thinking, communication skills, and mental stamina. Thus, similarities with traditional sports abound, and both industries share mutual benefits.
