FC Crotone's journey to the Serie A was not easy, as it spent many years playing in lower divisions before finally gaining promotion to the top tier in 2016. The club's success in the 2015-16 season saw them finish second in Serie B and secure a spot in the Serie A for the first time in their history.

The club's fortunes took a turn for the worse in the following seasons as they saw themselves relegated back to the Serie B before bouncing back up again in the 2020/2021 season. Their fortunes this season seem to not be in their favor either as they sit bottom of the league at this point of writing with only one win from fifteen games played.
While Crotone may not be one of the most high-profile clubs in Italian soccer, its rise to the Serie A and ability to stay afloat in elite competition shows that anything is possible in soccer.
