Florida Atlantic Owls Tickets
Head coach Jim Jabir took over the program in 2018 and has led the team to new heights. In his first season, he guided the Owls to a winning record and a berth in the Women's Basketball Invitational tournament. The team repeated that success the following year, earning another WBI bid.
Despite these recent successes, the Owls have yet to make an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. However, there is reason for optimism as Jabir continues to build the program and recruit top talent.
One of the standout players on the current roster is redshirt senior guard Amber Gaston. She was named to the All-Conference USA Third Team last season and is expected to be a key contributor this year. Other returning players include guards Juliette Gauthier and Jamaria Williams, both of whom started multiple games last season.
The Owls will also welcome several new faces to the team this season, including four freshmen and two transfers. Freshman guard Tyneisia Brantley is one to watch, as she was a McDonald's All-American nominee in high school.
The Owls play their home games at FAU Arena in Boca Raton, which seats just over 5,000 spectators. Despite its modest size, the arena has a great atmosphere and provides an intimate setting for fans to enjoy the game.
The women's basketball program at Florida Atlantic may not yet have the national recognition of some other schools, but it has consistently proven to be a strong competitor in Conference USA and beyond. With Jabir at the helm and talented players on the roster, expect the Owls to continue making waves in the world of college women's basketball.
