The story revolves around Dolly Gallagher Levi, a widowed matchmaker who sets out to find a suitable suitor for the wealthy, grumpy Horace Vandergelder. Meanwhile, two of Horace's clerks, Cornelius and Barnaby, are looking for a night out on the town and end up getting tangled up with their boss's love life.
The original production of Hello, Dolly! premiered on Broadway in 1964, starring Carol Channing as Dolly. The show was an instant hit, running for 2,844 performances and winning 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
