Ismayl Sillakh is a Ukrainian former professional boxer who competed from 2008 to 2015 in the light-heavyweight division. He was born on December 11, 1984 and started his amateur boxing career in Ukraine before relocating to California in 2008 to pursue a professional career.

Sillakh had an impressive amateur record of 284 wins and only 15 losses with notable victories including defeating Nathan Cleverly who later went on to become a world champion. In 2008, he signed with Goossen Tutor Promotions, a prestigious boxing promotion company, and made his professional debut on June 7, 2008, against Shawn Harris, winning by TKO in the second round.

Throughout his career, Sillakh quickly established himself as one of the top prospects in the light-heavyweight division. He won his first 17 fights before facing Russian boxer Sergey Kovalev in November 2013. Unfortunately, Sillakh suffered a devastating defeat, being knocked out in the second round by Kovalev who also went on to become a world champion.

After the defeat against Kovalev, Sillakh struggled to get back on track. He lost three of his next four bouts, which included back-to-back defeats against Eleider Álvarez and Blake Caparello.

Sillakh’s biggest strength was his technical skills, excellent footwork, and athleticism in the ring. He was known for his ability to control the pace of the fight and dominate his opponents with pressure and counterpunching. His powerful left hook and cross were his most potent weapons.

Despite retiring in 2015 with a mixed record of 23 wins (18 by KO) and 4 losses, Sillakh will always remain a respected figure in the boxing world for his flashy style, charisma, and determination inside the ring.

Today, Sillakh is involved in coaching young boxers and passing on his knowledge and experience to the next generation. He is also remembered for his philanthropic work, including donating part of his earnings from a fight in 2012 to support children with cancer in Ukraine.

In conclusion, Ismayl Sillakh had a successful but relatively short professional career in boxing. He was a skilled fighter with immense potential, and despite facing setbacks, he became one of the most memorable boxers of his time. His legacy in the sport continues through his dedication to teaching and inspiring future generations of boxing champions.
