In the 2020-21 season, the Gamecocks posted a 15-10 record and earned their first Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Tournament Championship after defeating UT Martin 68-65 in a thrilling final. They subsequently qualified for the NCAA Tournament, marking their second appearance in three years.
During the tournament, the Gamecocks put up a great fight against the powerhouse Texas Longhorns in the first round, ultimately falling short in a fiercely contested matchup that ended in a 61-53 defeat. Their impressive display earned them respect across the country, highlighting their potential as a team on the rise.
The Jacksonville State Gamecocks are known for their fast-paced, high-energy style of play, which is reflected in their success on both ends of the court.
