Last season, the team finished with a record of 18-12, which included an impressive 12-6 showing in conference play. They also earned a spot in the Women's Basketball Invitational, where they advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to Drexel University.
The success of the team can be attributed to the leadership of their coach, Sue Troyan. Troyan has been with the Mountain Hawks for over two decades and has led the team to eight Patriot League championships during her tenure.
One of the key players for the Mountain Hawks is senior guard Cameryn Benz. Benz was named to the All-Patriot League Second Team last season after averaging 9.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game. She will be joined by fellow seniors Emma Grothaus and Mariah Sexe, who both played key roles in the team's success last season.
Lehigh also has a strong group of underclassmen who are expected to contribute this season. Sophomore forward Catherine Noack showed promise as a freshman, averaging 7.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Cece Mayo could also make an impact, as she was a highly regarded recruit coming out of high school.
Overall, the Lehigh Mountain Hawks have all the pieces in place to be a major player in the Patriot League this season. With a talented roster and an experienced coach leading the way, they could be a team to watch as they look to capture another championship.
