Middle Tennessee has a rich tradition when it comes to sports, and softball is no exception. The Blue Raiders have produced some of the best softball players in history, and their program has brought home numerous conference titles and made several appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

The Middle Tennessee softball program began in 1984, and since then, the team has seen tremendous success on and off the field. The Blue Raiders have won 16 conference titles and made 14 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, including a run to the super regionals in 2005.

One of the most notable players to come out of Middle Tennessee's softball program is Megan Barry. Barry played for the Blue Raiders from 1989-1992 and was named an All-American three times while at Middle Tennessee. Following her time with the Blue Raiders, Barry played professionally for several years before being inducted into the Middle Tennessee Softball Hall of Fame in 2006.

Another standout player for Middle Tennessee was infielder Amy Vetula. Vetula played for the Blue Raiders from 2001-2004 and earned multiple conference and national awards during her time at Middle Tennessee.

The current head coach of Middle Tennessee's softball program is Jeff Breeden. Breeden has been with the program since 1996 and has helped lead the Blue Raiders to numerous conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances. Under his leadership, several players have gone on to play professionally or compete at the international level.

The Middle Tennessee softball program has also been recognized for its academic excellence. The team has consistently earned high marks from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for its academic achievements, and several players have been included on the NFCA's All-Academic Team.

Overall, Middle Tennessee's softball program has a strong legacy and continues to be a powerhouse in the sport. With a talented coaching staff and dedicated players, the Blue Raiders are poised for continued success both on and off the field.
