Veterans Stadium Seating Chart

Veterans Stadium, also known as “The Vet,” was a multi-purpose stadium located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The stadium opened in 1971 and served as the home of the Philadelphia Eagles (NFL) and the Philadelphia Phillies (MLB). In its thirty-year history, the stadium played host to numerous sporting events, concerts, and other cultural activities.

As an event venue, Veterans Stadium had several features that made it appealing for organizers and attendees alike. First and foremost, the stadium’s size and central location made it a fitting choice for large-scale events. With a seating capacity of over 65,000 people, the stadium could comfortably accommodate thousands of guests at a time.

Additionally, the layout of the stadium made it suitable for a variety of different types of events. The seating bowl was steeply sloped, providing excellent sightlines and ensuring that no spectator was too far from the action. Meanwhile, the field itself was spacious and well-maintained, making it ideal for sports events or outdoor concerts.

Throughout its three decades of operation, Veterans Stadium hosted a wide range of events. These included major league baseball games, NFL football games, college football games, high school football championships, boxing matches, wrestling matches, and monster truck rallies. In addition, the stadium also hosted several major concerts, including performances by the Rolling Stones, U2, and Bruce Springsteen.

Despite its many successes as an event venue, Veterans Stadium was not without its drawbacks. For one thing, its age and design meant that it lacked some of the amenities that modern stadiums now offer. For example, there were relatively few luxury boxes, and the restrooms and concessions facilities were often crowded during halftime or intermission.

Moreover, the stadium’s central location meant that parking and traffic could be a challenge for attendees, particularly during peak times. Nevertheless, for those who were willing to brave the crowds and long lines, Veterans Stadium remained a popular destination for events of all kinds.

Sadly, Veterans Stadium was demolished in 2004, making way for a new state-of-the-art facility, Citizens Bank Park. While many lamented the loss of the historic venue, its legacy and contributions to Philadelphia's cultural scene live on.
