The Tulsa Talons were a professional indoor football team that played in the Arena Football League (AFL) from 2010 to 2012. Although they had a relatively short stint in the league, the Talons made a name for themselves and left a lasting impact on the football community.

The Talons were founded by Henry Primeaux, a former Tulsa city councilor who had long dreamed of bringing professional football back to Tulsa. Under the leadership of head coach Mitch Allner, the Talons quickly established themselves as a competitive force in the league. They finished their first season with a record of 10-6 and earned a spot in the playoffs, where they advanced to the Conference Championship before ultimately falling to the eventual champion Spokane Shock.

In 2011, the Talons built on their success from the previous year and posted an even better record of 12-4. Led by quarterback Justin Allgood and a dominant defense, the team swept through the playoffs and advanced to the ArenaBowl XXIV, where they faced off against the Arizona Rattlers.

Although the Talons ultimately fell short in the championship game, their run to the ArenaBowl was considered a remarkable achievement for such a young franchise. The team's success also helped to generate enthusiasm and support among Tulsa football fans, who had been hungry for a professional team to root for since the Tulsa Oilers of the Arena Football League disbanded in 2008.

Despite their impressive performance in 2011, the Talons struggled in their final season in 2012. A rash of injuries, combined with stiff competition from other teams in the league, saw the team finish with a disappointing 7-11 record and miss out on the playoffs. The Talons' run in the AFL came to an end after the 2012 season when financial troubles forced the team to suspend operations.

Although the Tulsa Talons were only active for a few years, they left a lasting legacy on football in Tulsa. Their success on the field helped to reignite interest in football among Tulsa fans and proved that professional football could thrive in the city. The Talons also paved the way for other indoor football teams to emerge in Tulsa, including the Tulsa Revolution and the Oklahoma Defenders.
