Outside of team sports, Tunisia has a thriving athletics scene. Many Tunisians have excelled in track and field events, with Habiba Ghribi winning a silver medal in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2012 Olympics, becoming the first Tunisian female athlete to win an Olympic medal.
