Ultra White Collar Boxing Reading 25.03.2017 Tickets

Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) is not just about boxing, it’s about giving people a challenge and an opportunity to learn something new, whilst raising money for cancer research. The UWCB Reading event on 25th March 2017 was a true testament to this.

The UWCB Reading event saw 26 participants get into the ring and compete in six three-minute rounds, against opponents of similar ability, in front of a lively audience of family, friends and colleagues. It may sound daunting, however all of the participants were complete novices who had no prior boxing experience, which is what makes UWCB so unique. Over an eight-week period they learned basic boxing techniques, which they then put into practice in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Not only did these participants learn how to box, but they also committed themselves to fundraising for Cancer Research UK. The UWCB events raise much-needed funds for the charity and have raised over £15 million since 2009.

The atmosphere at the UWCB Reading event was electric as family members cheered their loved ones on, adding to the already supportive nature of the UWCB event. This atmosphere continued throughout the night as each participant stepped up to the plate, showcased their newly acquired boxing skills and took a punch for cancer research.

UWCB Reading isn’t just popular because of its challenging nature or its charitable aspect, it’s also a great way to stay active and healthy. Boxing has been known to improve cardiovascular fitness, hand-eye coordination, endurance and strength. So, even though the event participants volunteered without any prior knowledge of boxing, they still gained some serious health benefits from taking part.

Overall, the UWCB Reading event was a huge success. It showed that anyone can learn to box given the right instruction, support and motivation. It’s clear to see that UWCB is more than just a white-collar “fight club.” It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself, learn something new, get fit and raise money for a great cause.
