The Utah Flash was a professional basketball team that played in the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2007 to 2011. The team was based in Orem, Utah, and played its home games at the McKay Events Center on the campus of Utah Valley University.

The NBA D-League, now known as the NBA G League, is the official minor league of the National Basketball Association (NBA). It was founded in 2001 and currently has 28 teams that are either affiliated with NBA franchises or independently owned.

The Utah Flash was one of the original teams that joined the league for the 2007-08 season. The team was owned by Brandt Andersen, who also served as its president and CEO. The Flash had several notable players on their roster throughout their stint in the D-League, including Sundiata Gaines, who later went on to play for the Utah Jazz.

During their first year in the league, the Flash struggled with a record of 17-33 and missed the playoffs. However, they improved in their second season and made it to the playoffs with a 24-26 record. They were eventually eliminated in the first round by the eventual champions, the Colorado 14ers.

In the Flash's third season, the team had another winning record of 28-22, but once again fell short in the playoffs, losing in the first round to the Iowa Energy. The team's fourth and final season saw them post a disappointing 18-32 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since their inaugural season.

Despite only being around for four seasons, the Utah Flash made an impact in the NBA D-League. They were one of the more successful franchises in the league during their tenure, making the playoffs in two out of four seasons. The team also had a loyal fanbase that supported them in their home games at the McKay Events Center.

After the 2010-11 season, the Flash announced that they would not be returning to the D-League for the following season. The team's ownership cited financial difficulties as the reason for the decision. The Utah Jazz later purchased a D-League team in Boise, Idaho, which began play in 2015.

The Utah Flash may no longer be playing in the D-League, but their legacy lives on. They laid a foundation in Orem for professional basketball and helped develop several players who went on to play in the NBA. The franchise will always be remembered for their contributions to the development of the NBA's future stars.
