Yoshihiro Kamegai is a former Japanese professional boxer who retired from the sport in 2017. He was a highly respected fighter, known for his relentless pressure and incredible stamina, which allowed him to overwhelm opponents with his non-stop attacks.

Kamegai was born on October 12, 1982, in Sapporo, Japan. Although he began boxing at the relatively late age of 16, Kamegai quickly showed promise, winning his first nine amateur fights before turning pro in 2005.

During his career, Kamegai fought some of the best fighters in the world, including Robert Guerrero, Jesus Soto Karass, Miguel Cotto, and Orlando Salido. Although he never won a world title, Kamegai's ferocious fighting style made him a fan favorite and earned him a reputation as one of the toughest boxers in the sport.

One of Kamegai's most memorable fights took place in June 2016 against Jesus Soto Karass. The two fighters engaged in an all-out war, trading punches for twelve thrilling rounds before Kamegai emerged with a hard-fought victory.

Kamegai announced his retirement from boxing in April 2017, citing concerns about his health and the desire to spend more time with his family. In total, he had a record of 27 wins (24 by knockout), five losses, and two draws.

Despite retiring relatively young, Kamegai left an indelible mark on the sport of boxing. His exciting fighting style and unwavering determination made him a true warrior of the ring, and he will always be remembered as one of the toughest and most entertaining fighters of his era.
