Brampton Battalion was a minor ice hockey team that played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 1998 until 2013. The team was based in the city of Brampton, Ontario and played their home games at the Powerade Centre.

The team was originally located in North Bay, where they were known as the North Bay Centennials. In 1998, the team was bought by Dale Hawerchuk, who relocated the team to Brampton and changed the name to the Brampton Battalion.

The team saw great success during their time in Brampton, making the playoffs in 10 of their 15 seasons in the OHL. They reached the conference finals in 2004-05 and 2009-10, but never won a championship.

Some notable players to play for the Battalion include Wojtek Wolski, Cody Hodgson, Matt Duchene, Raffi Torres, Jason Spezza, and Bryan Little. These players went on to have successful NHL careers.

One of the reasons for the team's success was their commitment to developing young talent. The Battalion was known for giving young players a chance to play and develop in the OHL. Many of these players went on to have successful careers in professional hockey.

Unfortunately, financial difficulties led to the team being sold in 2013 and relocated to North Bay, where they returned to their original name as the North Bay Battalion. While the team is no longer in Brampton, they left behind a legacy of success and commitment to developing young talent that will not be forgotten.

In conclusion, the Brampton Battalion was an important part of the city's hockey history. They provided entertaining and competitive hockey for 15 seasons and helped develop young talent that went on to have successful careers in professional hockey. Although they are no longer in Brampton, their legacy lives on and they will always hold a special place in the hearts of Brampton hockey fans.
