Maurice André, the legendary French trumpet player, left an indelible mark on the world of classical music, specifically in the domain of concert performances. André’s performing career began when he was appointed as the solo trumpet player of the Lamoureux Orchestra in Paris. In 1963, he joined the Maurice Abravanel Symphony Orchestra in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he served as their principal trumpet player for two years. In 1965, he would go on to be the first trumpet player of the Paris Opera Orchestra, which he remained until his retirement in 1988.

Throughout his tenure as one of the leading trumpeters in the world, he performed in numerous concerts to critical acclaim. His virtuosic playing earned him numerous accolades and honors, including four Grammy nominations and being inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame.
